Bringing our teddies to school to celebrate

Red Nose Day

A heartfelt welcome to you all from Newton Primary School!

At Newton we are justifiably proud of our friendly, caring school which has an excellent reputation, along with our children and all the adults who so ably support us throughout the year, and who enable us to achieve ever greater results.

We encourage children to be interested, motivated and active learners whilst we seek to maintain a caring and active community where each child is enabled to achieve success and fulfil themselves intellectually, and, at the same time, grow towards becoming responsible, confident and caring adults.

The education of children is a partnership and we are grateful for, and actively seek your support in all we do in school.  Effective communication between home and school will help your child to take full advantage of all that school has to offer.  Together – staff, children, parents and carers join together to create something which is infinitely greater than its many parts – our school.

THE VILLAGE SCHOOL

“The Schools”, as they were initially called were

opened in 1909 and 1914.  Extra classrooms and

modern facilities have been added over the years

as the village and school populations expanded.

6 classrooms each with interactive whiteboard, further computers and up-to-date technology; large, refurbished hall;

extensive grounds with newly purchased large play equipment and sporting facilities;

Library and resource area;

Rainbow Room (a space for Positive Play sessions);

Magic Garden (enclosed play area for younger children)

ADMISSIONS Our school welcomes all children, and will ensure that it caters for children with special educational needs and disabilities and those deemed to be ‘Gifted & Talented’ thus providing equal opportunities to learn and succeed for all.

 Local Authority procedures are followed and new starters to school are admitted in September (September-April birthdays) or January (May-August birthdays).

Putting your child’s name down for school as early as possible helps our planning.  For Induction details see Foundation Stage page.

Admissions into other years—Informal visits to the school are welcomed; admissions forms available from school; the Governing Body will authorise admission if spare places are available
