Busy Week
Fri 20 Sep 2019We’ve had a fantastic week full of wonderful learning and lots of smiley faces! As well as our usual learning, we’ve managed to squeeze in a KS2 Football Tournament and Bikeability for the Y6s. Practise for our upcoming Harvest Assembly has been ongoing and the corridors have been filled with some lovely singing.
A group of KS2 children visited Tibshelf Community School after school on Wednesday 18th September and took part in a Football Tournament. Eight teams in total took part in the event, playing four matches. They had a super time playing and despite coming sixth, they returned full of positivity.
Callen reported, “I absolutely loved interacting with everyone and it was a friendly environment.”
“There was a great atmosphere,” added Headboy Zac.
On asked how he felt looking back on the match, Max replied, “I felt really proud and I enjoyed it!”
The following day, Mrs Mason said, “ Their position didn’t reflect just how well they’d played. I was incredibly proud of them.” Well done Team Newton!
The sun was shining (thankfully) for our group of Y6 children who completed their Level 1 and Level 2 Bikeability training. It was great to see their confidence grow throughout the day. They returned to school tired but very proud of themselves. Fingers crossed the weather is kind again for the remainder of the class who take their Bikeability training next Thursday!
