Governor responsible for Pupil Premium

My name is Lauren Green: I joined the governing body at Newton Primary School as parent governor in September 2024. I have some experience of the education system, having worked as a specialist teaching assistant before taking an extended maternity leave and becoming a full-time mum. I am extremely passionate about education and providing opportunities for all. I have a strong desire to help raise educational standards and create a safe and fun environment for all children to explore and achieve their dreams, which is why I applied to be a parent governor. I currently work for the local authority; supporting adults who have significant and enduring mental health needs. Within my role I safeguard those who are vulnerable; I fight against social injustice, as well as the impact of poverty, discrimination, and inequality. In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, taking long walks with our golden retriever, as well as keeping physically fit and active.
