Headteacher's Welcome

A welcome from Mr. Wray, our Headteacher
I am proud to be the Headteacher of Newton Primary School. We are a growing, forward thinking school based in the Derbyshire village of Newton. We currently have 140 children on roll from Reception to Year 6. We currently have five mixed aged and ability classes. The school is run by highly committed and skilled staff who have the children's interests at the centre of everything they do.
The school is very well supported by its community. There is strong community spirit in the village and the school is very much at the heart of it. We are proud to be 'an educational family that comes together and stays together' and we strongly promote seven family values which are Determination, Passion, Respect, Honesty, Self Belief, Teamwork and Resilience.
Our curriculum is based around three curriculum pillars which are:
- Instilling our Newton Values
- Preparing our children to be global citizens
- Equipping children with the relevant skills and knowledge
We want every child that leaves Newton Primary School to be well equipped to go onto the next stage in their education and on to being successful adults.
We are an open school that prides itself on the supporting and effective relationships we have with our families. We are always wanting to improve everything that we do for the benefit of all of our children.
If you would like to find out more about our school then please don't hesitate to get in contact.
Mr. B Wray
