Erika Thornhill
Erika Thornhill – Local Authority Governor
Member of the Resource Management Committee
Governor responsible for SEND/ LAC children
I am an almost retired Headteacher who has worked for the Local Authority for my entire career. I am also a Local Authority School Improvement Partner and currently supporting 15 school within Derbyshire. I sometimes cover classes at the school on a supply basis and I believe this gives me a strong base on which to support the school as it moves forward.
As you might imagine I believe passionately in education and fully believe in the development and nurture of the whole child and I know this aligns with the values of Newton Primary School
I have been married for over 30 years and have four grown up children and one Grandson. I also live in Chesterfield and studied at the Sheffield Hallam University where I obtained my Bachelor of Education degree many years ago.
I am still enthusiastic and keen to continue my learning and I am therefore looking forward to the opportunities this provides through being a Governor at Newton Primary School.
