Sarah Hughes – Staff Governor

Member of the Teaching & Learning Committee

My name is Sarah Hughes and I am one of the staff governors here at Newton Primary School. I have worked at the school for six years in my role as the Deputy Headteacher. I am currently responsible for leading on the whole school curriculum and mathematics. I provide feedback to the Teaching & Learning committee on assessment and progress made towards the school improvement plan. 

I have been teaching for over twenty years and have taught in a number of different schools in different regions of the country. I am passionate about providing the very best opportunities for the children that attend Newton Primary School. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family (including the dogs) and walking in the countryside.
