Holly McGuire – Staff Governor

Member of the Teaching & Learning Committee

My name is Holly McGuire and I am one of the staff governors here at Newton Primary School. I have worked at the school for four years. I am the schools Senior Teacher and member of the schools senior leadership team. I am currently responsible for leading on the reading, writing and phonics across the school. I provide feedback to the Teaching & Learning committee on assessment in these subjects and progress made towards the school improvement plan. 

I have been teaching for over fifteen years and have taught in a number of different schools in different regions of the country. I am passionate about providing the very best opportunities for the children that attend Newton Primary School. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and running in the countryside.
