Newton Vision and Values
At Newton Primary School, our vision is clear and meaningful:
“Be the best you can be!”
This guiding principle shapes everything we do. We are committed to helping every child achieve their full potential—not just academically, but personally and socially too.
Our pupils benefit from a broad and balanced curriculum that fosters a love of learning and challenges them to think critically and creatively. But learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. We offer a wide range of enrichment opportunities that allow children to explore their interests, develop new skills, and grow in confidence.
We actively promote pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, preparing them to become thoughtful, respectful, and responsible members of society. Through assemblies, special events, and everyday classroom practice, we also embed British Values, helping children to understand the importance of democracy, respect, tolerance, and individual liberty.
At Newton, we aim to nurture happy, resilient learners who are well-prepared for their futures—and proud of who they are.
Our Newton Values
Our Newton Values
At Newton Primary School, our school culture is built on a strong foundation of seven core values, which we proudly call our Newton Family Values:
Determination
Passion
Respect
Honesty
Self-Belief
Teamwork
Resilience
From the moment children join us in Reception, right through to their final days in Year 6, these values are at the heart of everything we do. They guide how we learn, how we treat one another, and how we grow as individuals.
Values That Shape Behaviour and Character
Our whole behaviour management system is structured around these values. Rather than focusing only on rules, we focus on helping children understand and live out the values in their daily actions. Positive behaviour is celebrated in classrooms, assemblies, and across school life when pupils demonstrate these qualities—whether that’s showing teamwork during a group task or resilience when facing a challenge.
Preparing Children for Life
We believe that our role as educators goes beyond academic success. Our mission is to prepare children not just for their next stage of education, but for life. If we can instil these seven values in every pupil, we know we are giving them the foundation to become happy, confident, and successful adults who contribute positively to the world around them.
